Emanuel Berndl is a PhD Student at the University of Passau working on multimedia modelling. The achievement of my Bachelor was done at the University of Passau in 2010. Its thesis contained the research and implementation of a graph algorithm to recognize permutation graphs, which was embedded into Gravisto, a graph visualization toolkit that has been developed at the University of Passau. After that my master degree was received in 2012, also at the same university. This thesis treated the analysis of the possibilities to model an interactive video in SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) and took place in the iVi-Pro project. In this process, an exporter for the project’s software, called SIVA Suite, was implemented. Since October 2012 I have been employed as a PhD Student/research assistant at the Chair of Distributed Information Systems. At the beginning my work consisted of teaching students in computer sciences. Since November 2013 my duties changed and I am now a part of the FP7 MICO project, where my field of activity takes place in work package 3 – Cross-Media Metadata Publishing.
